In this video we are going to talk about the first eclipse of the year: a Total Solar Eclipse taking place on the last degree of Aries. This phenomenon is particularly interesting as the eclipse coincides with a “double moon”. In fact, this is going to be the second new moon in Aries of the year.

In the previous article, we talked about the last Lunar Eclipse in Taurus. We saw how the feminine archetypes, through the forces of the Moon and Venus, are trying to hinder the conflict represented by the Saturn-Uranus Square. On the contrary, the masculine archetypes don’t seem to want to stop. Especially because the perfection of the Square is expected for late December—right on Christmas’ Eve.
How is this second and last eclipse of the season going to affect the overall situation? What’s the specific impulse brought by it? In this article we are going to tackle the phenomenon by looking at the planets involved. In particular we are going to focus on Jupiter, lord of the Eclipse, and its relationship with Mars.
This is going to be a Total Solar Eclipse, taking place at 12° 22′ Sagittarius on December 4. As always we are going to analyze it by looking at all its different aspects. Is it a South or North Node Eclipse? What’s the relationship between the planets? What’s the meaning of a Solar Eclipse from a spiritual perspective?

The Moon in Capricorn, the image of a lonely child, trying to survive in a winterly environment. Summer outside, but inside the echoes of a cold loneliness. What is left for us after 6 months of crisis? What the hidden rubble after all we’ve been through?
The Archetype of the Orphan is around us, always present after a big loss. What have we lost? Is it “only” a sense of security and stability? Or is it much more concretely a job, money or maybe the hope of realizing our projects?
If we look within ourselves we cannot pretend that nothing has changed. This eclipse is here to remind us of this.
Saturn has just entered back to Capricorn. In fact, the energies of this sign are going to be reactivated. Not only by the presence of its ruler, but also by the eclipse taking place on July 5th 2020.
This is going to be the last eclipse of the season, as well as the last eclipse in Capricorn. In fact the lunar nodes axis has changed sign, moving backwards across Gemini and Sagittarius. This means that we are going to experience further eclipses in Capricorn only in about 9 years.

The Summer Solstice is the time of the year when the principle of Light manifests itself at its peak. The Sun shines through in all its glory, dimming our senses and our consciousness. This year, just when the Sun is about to touch the highest heights, the shadow of the Dragon crawls in, devouring it.
This is going to be an Annular Solar Eclipse, meaning that the Moon is not going to overshadow the Sun completely. Still, the ring is going to be very thin—to the point that any technical subtleties cannot possibly change the symbolic meaning of the event.
As you may have guessed, a Solar Eclipse at the time of the Summer Solstice is not a good omen. It is going to occur exactly at 0° Cancer, just after the entrance of the Sun in the sign. This is a very rare event, that adds up to the peculiar planetary cycles of this year. Just think about the Saturn-Pluto conjunction that announced the covid-19 pandemic. 2020 is everything but a quiet year.

A North Node Eclipse
Every Solar Eclipse is first and foremost a New Moon, the time of the month when the night is darkest. When one of the nodes is in conjunction with a New Moon you have a solar eclipse. In this case, the North Node is involved, the so called Caput Draconis—the head of the Dragon.
I consider myself a free researcher in western spiritual disciplines, in particular Rudolf Steiner’s Anthroposophy and the Neoplatonic Hermetic tradition. I have a three-year training in Astrology at the CIDA delegation of Trieste, the Italian Center for Astrological Disciplines. I graduated in Computer Engineering from the University of Trieste.
The Full Moon, living symbol of the light piercing the darkness, shines through the night in Sagittarius, sign of the Higher Knowledge. Isis-Sophia, Goddess of Wisdom, faces the South Node—Cauda Draconis. The tail of the dragon tries to swallow the light of consciousness by means of the shadows of oblivion. The sound of the sistrum, instrument of the goddess, keeps the dragon at bay.
A new series of eclipses is about to start. The next Full Moon on June 5th is going to be a penumbral lunar eclipse at 16° Sagittarius. The following New Moon, an annular solar eclipse taking place in the very heart of the Summer Solstice (1° Cancer). Lastly, the Full Moon of July 5th, ending the series with another penumbral lunar eclipse at 13° Capricorn.
In order to see if and how the eclipse is going to affect you, just check any planet from 14° to 18° Sagittarius in your Natal Chart. Usually, lunar eclipses bring in the following 6 months unexpected revelations that have unexpected consequences. The planet involved, its house placement, and the houses that it rules are going to point out specifically the possible areas of life interested by the event.
In any case, let’s try to remember to connect to our wisdom within. It’s very easy for the forces of summer to dim our consciousness, especially after all these months of lockdown. We all crave sun and freedom. But even though we just want to go back to our normal lives, let’s remember where the wisest part of us lies.
We’re going through a traumatic pandemic. There’s not much we can do but treasuring the experiences we went through. Otherwise it will have been all for nothing, and the desire of having our life back will have obscured the self-knowledge that we had the opportunity to develop these months. “For it is the doom of men that they forget” —Merlin, from Excalibur movie.

Reading Time : 3minutesAn Annular, Solar Eclipse is like an ovule. The Sun disc appear bigger than the Moon, creating a ring of light in the sky at the peak of the event. We can think of it as a sort of “egg of change”—fecundated by the solar force.
As we have discussed before, a Solar Eclipse is about new beginnings. If the North Lunar Node is involved, they are constructive, amplifying and positive. Whereas if the eclipse occurs on South Lunar Node—as in this case—they are destructive and negative. But don’t freak out.

Positive or negative are relative concepts. [ictt-tweet-inline]Destruction can be functional just as construction can be dysfunctional[/ictt-tweet-inline]. It all depends on what you need right now. If you are turning your world upside down this eclipse might be right for you. But if you’re looking for a peaceful stability it could definitely get in the way!
Mars and Mercury activating the Eclipse
Mars will give dynamism to the event (as if it was needed!). In particular, the Cardinal T-Square—Jupiter in Libra, Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn—will be triggered by the transit of the God of War. Being in Aries, Mars will give the major configuration a great boost. The conjunction with Uranus (freedom, revolution, sudden changes) is an explosive mix that will not take long to manifest.
The Cardinal T-Square is about tension between legal justice (Jupiter in Libra), social justice (Uranus in Aries) and financial power (Pluto in Capricorn). Before long, we can expect the political landscape to suffer a serious shock, especially for the areas most affected by the eclipse (see below).
In addition the Sun and the Moon are going to be in conjunction with Neptune, lord of the collective unconscious feelings. This means all this will touch deeply the public opinion.
As always, the effects of the eclipse will reveal themselves in the following months. Since it’s going to take place at 8° 12′ Pisces, we need to monitor that spot for upcoming transits. In particular Mercury is going to hit 9° Pisces on March 3, which is also when Jupiter and Uranus are going to perfect their opposition.
We can conclude that the eclipse effects will show up very soon. If you want to see how the eclipse is going to affect you please check 9° Pisces on your Natal Chart to see if any planet or angle are triggered. If so, the houses affected are mainly the ones represented by the planet.
Most affected areas
The eclipse is going to take place on February 26 at 14:58 (UTC Time) at 9° Pisces. It is going to be visible in South/West Africa, Much of South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean and Antarctica. However we must not think that those places are also the ones most affected astrologically.
The power of any astrological event depends on the houses. The closer to the angles (Ascendant AS, Midheaven MC, Descendant DS and Imum Coeli IC), the more powerful it is. Through Astrocartography we can discover exactly where the eclipse is going to thrive.
Below is a list of places most affected:
AS: USA, North/West Coast (east of San Francisco/Portland/Seattle), Canada (east of Vancouver)
MC: Brazil (east of Rio de Janeiro, west of Fortaleza)
DS: Russia (east of St. Petersbourg, west of Moscow), Finland (western border), Iraq (west of Baghdad)
IC: Japan (South/West Tokio, Mt. Fuji), Australia (Adelaide)

Reading Time : 3minutesI used to like eclipses. They are dark, mysterious—glamorous, in a way. But now that I am a little bit more aware of what they represent, I have become immune to their charm. More or less.
They are indeed a very cool phenomenon. But in ancient times they were also seen as an omen of doom—or even worse. Actually, it must have been terrible to attend to a Solar Eclipse. The very source of all life on earth suddenly faded away. Only priests and astrologers could give them a deeper meaning—exorcising the fear.
But we are not going to talk about a Solar Eclipse in this post. [ictt-tweet-inline]On February 10 a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse is going to occur[/ictt-tweet-inline]. Basically a dark shading will appear on the Moon’s face. During the peak of the eclipse the shadow will be larger and darker.
Lunar eclipses always happen on a full moon night. This because the Sun, the Earth and the Moon need to be aligned properly. When they are, the Earth casts its shadow on the Moon.
Full Moon in Leo
When the Moon is full its cycle reaches the peak. It is the culmination of both energy and light, a moment of revelation. The night is lighted at most—as it is our unconscious mind. [ictt-tweet-inline]It’s time for lucid dreaming, core shadow work and deep understanding of the psyche[/ictt-tweet-inline].
The Full Moon in Leo brings a subtle golden light which gently marries the pure white silver energy of Imbolc. It relates to the archetype of the Good Queen—loved by all the people as the mother of the realm. She brings abundance, generosity, magnanimity, protection and a golden legacy.
A Good Eclipse
This is going to be a good eclipse. For starters, the North Lunar Node is involved. If you are not familiar with lunar nodes, you can think of them as the spots in the sky where eclipses can occur. They are the North Node and the South Node, opposed to each other. In a nutshell, astrologers of old regarded the North Node as a Jupiter-like energy point (which is good); the South Node, as a Saturn-like one (which is bad). Please note I am oversimplifying here.
The North Node is about expansion, new energy, and material wealth. Combined with the Lunar Eclipse, it is going to reveal shadow aspects or dysfunctional behaviors in order to enable positive change. This doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy—eclipses never are. Nevertheless—although your discoveries may be hard—in the end it will be worth it.
As always, your Natal Chart houses will provide the context (work, family, romance, etc.). But generally speaking this eclipse is saying: not all that glitters is gold. Or vice versa, things we usually look down on may turn out to be very valuable.
Grand Trine of Fire and Mystic Rectangle
The second reason that brings me to say this is going to be a good eclipse lies in its beauty. The Moon is going to close two major planetary configurations: a Grand Trine of Fire (Moon in Leo, Saturn in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries) and a Mystic Rectangle (Moon in Leo, Sun in Aquarius, Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Aries).
They are both easing configurations that are going to affect the ongoing Cardinal T-Square. The Grand Trine of Fire represents a positive cooperation between forces of the same element. It’s like having the Good Queen (Moon in Leo) giving the representative of the people (Uranus in Aries) an audience to listen to his complaints with the advice of the old High Priest (Saturn in Sagittarius).
On the other hand, the Mystic Rectangle combines the dynamic energy of two oppositions with the balancing contribution of two trines and two sextiles. It’s like funneling a bad tension towards a constructive outcome. The main tension here is the well known opposition between Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Aries. To put it simply, what it is legally right (Jupiter in Libra) doesn’t necessarily correspond to justice for the people (Uranus in Aries).
In Conclusion
We can expect a “moment of truth” coming—a bolt from the blue that turns your world upside down. What we believed to be valuable had no solid foundation; what we considered worthless will prove to be worthy. At first, it will feel like having the earth missing under your feet. But eventually, everything is going to fall into place.
Please note that the effects of an eclipse take some time to manifest. This kind of event creates a sensible spot (22° Leo) that should be monitored for the next months. Upcoming transits will definitely trigger it again in the very next future.
The Eclipse is going to occur with the Moon and the Sun at 22° Leo and Aquarius respectively. It’s going to be visible from America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
